Obituary for Ralph Demmien Jr.
Ralph “Butch” Demmien, Jr. 73, passed away at home on May 14, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Ralph was born on February 21, 1944 to the late Ralph and Dorothy Demmien. On June 6, 1964 he married Joyce Slater, who survives.
Ralph is also survived by his loving children Kevin Demmien and Tina Demmien; grandchildren Brad Demmien, Crystal Demmien, Nicole Demmien and Kevin Demmien,II; great grandchildren DeAndre Payne, K.C. Payne and Mya’ Payne; brother Todd Hogan; sisters Sheryll Stapleton, Tammy Hartfiel and Lori Hogan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his sister Sandra Webster and brother Gary Hogan.
Ralph was the manager at Stadium Liquor for many years where he was lovingly known as “Pops”. He retired but went back to work because of his love for his job. Ralph loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, shooting and boating. He enjoyed camping and he loved spending time with his family, especially time on Cumberland Lake. Ralph was a member of the Campbell County Game and Fish, Newport FOP Lodge #2 and the American Legion. Ralph was a huge NASCAR fan and was able to participate in a NASCAR experience, which was on his bucket list. Ralph will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
A visitation will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 11 until time of service at 1. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. To leave online condolences please visit www.floralhillsmemorialgardens.com
